New Life is a growing church located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Founded in 1997, we have grown into a wonderful church family that is reaching the lost, that loves one another, and cares for our community.
We are currently in a season of staff transition and are looking for someone with experience to oversee the preschool through high school age range of ministry. This will include vision, planning, and oversight of the whole ministry area, as well as volunteer teams, and at least one part-time staff member.

Role Overview
The Family Discipleship Pastor is a full-time position that provides visionary leadership and oversight for all "Next Gen" ministries (birth through 12th grade). In this sized congregation, the pastor acts as the primary leader for youth while recruiting and coaching a volunteer team to manage children's ministry.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Discipleship: Develop a unified "birth-to-graduation" discipleship pathway, ensuring curriculum and milestones (e.g., first Bible, baptism, graduation) are cohesive across age groups.
Youth Ministry (Teens): Serve as the direct leader for middle and high school gatherings, focusing on biblical teaching, relational mentoring, and annual events like camps, retreats or mission trips.
Children’s Ministry Oversight: Supervise the Children’s Lead Volunteers to ensure a safe, fun, and gospel-centered environment for kids.
Parent Equipping: Provide resources, seminars, and counseling to help parents disciple their children throughout the week.
Volunteer Leadership: Recruit, vet (using Ministry Safe or similar child protection policy material), and train volunteers to staff classrooms and lead small groups.
General Pastoral Care: Assist the Pastor with weddings, funerals, hospital visits, and occasional Sunday morning preaching.
Qualifications & Skills
Spiritual Maturity: Must meet the biblical requirements for an elder (1 Timothy 3; Titus 1) and demonstrate a vibrant personal walk with Christ.
Theological Alignment: Must become a member of the Church, commit to the study and the practice of the teachings of the Bible, and doctrinally hold to the Baptist Faith and Message.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies, Youth Ministry, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred but not required.
Relational Ability: High energy and the ability to connect with diverse groups—from toddlers to teenagers to parents.
Administrative Skill: Proficient in using church management tools like Planning Center and social media for parent communication.

Overview

HCC is a fundamental Christian church that believes Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God, that He came to the earth in human form, laid down His life on the cross, arose three days later, and ascended back to heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father making intercession for His followers. We believe that marriage is an institution ordained by God between one man and one woman.
The Pastor’s general duties consist of the following:
- Prepare and deliver three biblically-based sermons/messages per week (two on Sundays & one on Wednesdays)
- In conjunction with deacons, elders, and/or other church members, visit home-bound individuals, and church members in hospitals and nursing homes
- Set specific times for office hours to counsel, mentor, or provide spiritual support and guidance for members and visitors
- Collaberate with church leaders and volunteers to prepare services for activities/special occasions/events (Easter, Christmas, etc.)
- Shepherd the congregation to encourage spiritual growth and discipleship
- Work within the community to demonstrate God’s love and help grow the congregation
- Perform weddings and funerals as needed

About Us
West Side Church of Christ is a multi-generational, instrumental congregation within the Restoration Movement (Churches of Christ/Christian Churches), committed to biblical teaching, meaningful relationships, and active engagement in our local community. Our average weekly attendance is approximately 105 to 125, allowing for close connection, collaboration, and hands-on ministry.

The Opportunity
This role centers on discipleship — not simply sustaining an existing youth program, but investing in the spiritual lives of students, strengthening their connection to the church, and helping them grow into mature followers of Christ.
The Associate Minister will lead and develop the Youth Ministry (grades 6–12) while contributing to outreach efforts and the broader life and ministry of the congregation.
This is work that happens through presence, relationships, teaching, mentoring, and shared ministry with volunteers, parents, and church leaders.

HCC is a fundamental Christian church that believes Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God, that He came to the earth in human form, laid down His life on the cross, arose three days later, and ascended back to heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father making intercession for His followers. We believe that marriage is an institution ordained by God between one man and one woman.
The Pastor’s general duties consist of the following:
- Prepare and deliver three biblically-based sermons/messages per week (two on Sundays & one on Wednesdays)
- In conjunction with deacons, elders, and/or other church members, visit home-bound individuals, and church members in hospitals and nursing homes
- Set specific times for office hours to counsel, mentor, or provide spiritual support and guidance for members and visitors
- Collaberate with church leaders and volunteers to prepare services for activities/special occasions/events (Easter, Christmas, etc.)
- Shepherd the congregation to encourage spiritual growth and discipleship
- Work within the community to demonstrate God’s love and help grow the congregation
- Perform weddings and funerals as needed

About Us
West Side Church of Christ is a multi-generational, instrumental congregation within the Restoration Movement (Churches of Christ/Christian Churches), committed to biblical teaching, meaningful relationships, and active engagement in our local community. Our average weekly attendance is approximately 105 to 125, allowing for close connection, collaboration, and hands-on ministry.

The Opportunity
This role centers on discipleship — not simply sustaining an existing youth program, but investing in the spiritual lives of students, strengthening their connection to the church, and helping them grow into mature followers of Christ.
The Associate Minister will lead and develop the Youth Ministry (grades 6–12) while contributing to outreach efforts and the broader life and ministry of the congregation.
