Student Life
Mid-Atlantic Christian University is an environment where you will build lifelong relationships.
Students are stretched in numerous ways to develop memories that are carried on forever. Our mission is to impact the world by transforming ordinary people in extraordinary Christian leaders. We recognize that this training occurs in the classroom as well as in everyday living.
The Student Life Office exists to provide a living and learning environment that will encourage students to grow spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically. The staff desires to assist students with their various needs beginning at New Student Orientation and lasting throughout their academic career.
Outside of the classroom there are a number of activities available to our students. Various social events are planned under the supervision of the Student Life Staff assisted by the Student Life Committee.
Our current collegiate athletic teams are men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, women’s volleyball, soccer, and golf with other intramural sports including flag football, bowling, and open gyms with various activities. There are numerous opportunities for community service and ministry as well.
Location
Mid-Atlantic Christian University is located in historic Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The twenty-acre campus is on the banks of the Pasquotank River, five blocks from the US 17/158 bypass and three blocks from the downtown business district and waterfront (see map in Directory section of this catalog). The city of 17,000 provides opportunities for employment, recreation, and shopping.
The University is less than two miles from Albemarle Hospital, College of the Albemarle, Elizabeth City State University, and The Museum of the Albemarle. In addition, Mid-Atlantic Christian University is within an hour drive of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and the beaches of North Carolina‘s Outer Banks. The University is located in perhaps the thickest concentration of Churches of Christ on the Atlantic coast, from the metropolitan area of Norfolk, Virginia, 50 miles northward, to the rural counties of North Carolina, 100 miles southward. This strategic location affords many opportunities for involvement in church activities, student ministries, youth ministries, supply preaching and other Christian service.
