Job Description for Family Minister of Bethany Christian Church, Carrollton, GA

Position Overview:
Bethany Christian Church of Carrollton, GA, is seeking a Family Minister to lead and develop ministries serving children, students, and their families. This role is for a spiritually grounded, relational leader with a heart for discipling the next generation of Christ followers, along with having an awareness of the cultural, social, and spiritual challenges youth face today. This is a full-time position.

Bethany Christian Church is part of the Restoration Movement within the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ (Independent Christian Church) movement. We warmly welcome candidates with roots in this movement or experience in a Restoration Movement college or ministry context, eager to learn and serve within this heritage.

The Family Minister will partner with parents, volunteers, and church leadership to create a Christ-centered, engaging, and safe ministry environment that encourages lifelong faith formation.

Primary Responsibilities
• Be hands-on leading children’s and student ministries
• Develop biblically faithful and culturally relevant discipleship opportunities
• Build meaningful relationships with families in multiple venues.
• Recruit, train, and support volunteers
• Partner with parents and families in faith-formation opportunities
• Plan a balance of programs, events, and outreach opportunities
• Collaborate with the lead minister and elders for unity and accountability.
• Help in upholding or reframing child safety policies

Qualifications
• Growing relationship with Jesus Christ through being teachable and humble.
• A strong desire to work with children, students, and families
• Independent work ethic mixed with accountability to leadership
• Have a strong understanding of contemporary youth culture
• Alignment with the Independent Christian Church theology and philosophy based on Restoration Movement ideals.
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Education & Experience
Degree in ministry, biblical studies, education, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.

Compensation
Salary and benefits are negotiable based on experience, education, and qualifications.
