There are thousands upon thousands of worthy colleges, universities, non-profits and missionary organizations in existence today. With the overwhelming number of organizations seeking support, why should I support Mid-Atlantic Christian University?
Singular Mission
From its inception, Mid-Atlantic Christian University has provided solid biblical education to students and trained vocational ministers, missionaries, church planters, educators and church leaders. While students may now receive degrees which prepare them for various vocations, all students receive a sound biblical education. Our students are prepared for ministry; some will serve in the church and others in the marketplace.
Globally Focused
While located in a small eastern North Carolina community, MACU’s influence reaches around the globe. Alumni are actively serving and making a positive impact in 48 states, the District of Columbia, one territory, and 25 countries. MACU believes in taking the Good News to the whole world!
Academic Excellence
Commitment to excellence is infused into our Mid-Atlantic DNA as we seek to serve and represent Christ. “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him” (Colossians 3:17 NKJV). Professors have exceptional academic credentials and a passion for Christian higher education. Mid-Atlantic is fully accredited by The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
Character Development
Academic excellence alone does not build strong character. MACU promotes and models ageless Judeo-Christian principles to develop principled men and women who live with integrity, honor, and virtue.
Supportive Environment
Students live and learn in an environment where professors and administrators interact personally with them. In this supportive family environment, our students discover lifelong friendships, are academically and spiritually stretched, and develop memories that will last a lifetime.
Affordable Cost
We are committed to providing an affordable Christian education to those who want to dedicate their lives to serving the Lord. Thanks to generous support from alumni, family, friends, and supporting churches, we can keep tuition costs much lower than most private colleges. Current costs to attend may be found at: https://www.macuniversity.edu/admissions/future-students/financial-aid/tuition-and-fees/
Responsible Stewardship
Mid-Atlantic Christian University is a private university that exists solely by God’s grace and supporters’ financial gifts. The leadership at MACU raises money with integrity, spends frugally, and provides full financial disclosure in its Annual Report.
Nationally Ranked
2013 Baccalaureate College Rankings (Washington Monthly) rated MACU 40th in the top 100 schools based on their contribution to the public good in three categories: Social Mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students), Research, and Service (encouraging students to give something back to their country).
Proven Past
MACU has a 76-year history of educating and equipping leaders to serve God, the Church, and the world. Graduates and alumni from MACU (Legacy Eastern Christian College and Roanoke Bible College) serve in various professions and have established themselves as proven leaders.
Exciting Future
The Bible describes God as active, intervening, and accomplishing His purposes. We believe that MACU is called to follow God and prepare men and women who are at work in the world today to serve God. There is no greater honor than to serve God and be a part of something He is doing! Our eyes are focused forward as we walk by faith to transform ordinary people into extraordinary leaders and impact the culture for Christ.
One of the greatest joys in life is being part of something greater than oneself and feeling like you are making a positive difference in the world! Your financial support enables the university to educate, mentor, and equip students with the intellectual, spiritual, and professional skills needed to engage with and change the world.

Church Relations
Mid-Atlantic Christian University exists to support and partner with Christians and churches to advance the Gospel. For 76 years, MACU has enjoyed continuous prayer, financial support, and positive relationships with our churches and constituents. Below are a few ways we hope to serve your congregation. This page aims to help you find information and resources as we partner together to spread the gospel. Please browse the following options and contact us with any questions you may have.
Request a Speaker
MACU can provide your church with speakers to give sermons, mission updates, college Sunday messages, or to speak at homecomings, revivals, or any other occasions. To request a speaker, please contact Financial Aid by email or by phone at 252-334-2020.
Campus Visits
We welcome church groups, mission teams, or individuals who would like to see the campus, learn more about MACU, or see the community to come for a visit! We have “Tuesday Tours” for those who are interested in enrolling!
Request a MACU Display: If you would like a MACU presence at your church—whether for a special occasion such as a mission day or other special event or for a reminder of the University you pray for and support—we can provide a display, literature, presentation or video for you to use. Please contact Nicole Sershen to request a display.
Request a Recruitment Team Visit: We would be more than happy to send a recruitment team to your church! Our recruitment teams could participate in or lead a service, lead worship, provide a kids’ service or event, help with VBS, or make other requests if you are interested. Our recruitment teams also travel to many Christian camps each summer—contact us if you’d like to know when we will be at a camp near you! What better way to encourage your young people to attend a Christian University than to have them meet those who are currently attending MACU? Let us know if you would like a MACU recruitment team to visit your church by contacting Admissions at 252.334.2076.
Schedule an Estate Planning Seminar: MACU offers several planned gift instruments. Please contact the Advancement Office for more information or to schedule a visit by Financial Planning Ministries. This service is free of cost to you and members of your congregation.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns that are not addressed here, please contact Nicole Sershen, Institutional Advancement Administrative Assistant by phone (252.334.2008) or email.
