Mid-Atlantic Christian University is excited to announce a new partnership with Roanoke Christian Service Camp this summer! From July 20-25, 2025, MACU will host the MAD (Music and Drama) Camp for teens on our campus. This unique camp provides teens with a passion for music and drama the opportunity to learn, rehearse, and perform a full musical program while growing in faith and fellowship.
Expanding Camp Opportunities for Middle School Girls in Northeastern NC
When Roanoke Christian Service Camp found itself needing to add another week of camp for middle school girls, MACU stepped in to help. Dr. Bane Angles, a member of the camp’s board, saw the potential for MACU’s campus to be the perfect setting for MAD Week. With our facilities, equipment, dining services, and resources, hosting camp on our campus allowed Roanoke to open an additional session for middle school girls while still offering MAD Week to teens.
Music and Drama Week (MAD Week) at MACU
The Music and Drama Week (MAD Week) is a unique opportunity for campers to explore their creative gifts, engage in worship arts, and build confidence through performance and teamwork. This year, the camp will be led by MACU alumnus Patrick Harrison, serving as dean for the week.
Camp Schedule
Drop-off: Sunday, June 20, at 4 PM on the MACU campus
Pick-up: Friday, June 25, following the final performance at MACU
What to Expect at MAD Camp:
- Campers will receive their scripts a few weeks before the session begins to study.
- On Sunday, auditions will take place, and rehearsals will begin.
- On Wednesday and Thursday, campers will travel to local churches to perform.
- The final performance will take place on Friday evening at MACU, where families can see their teens shine on stage!

This partnership allows middle school girls to have another week of camp at Roanoke Christian Service Camp while bringing MAD Camp to the MACU campus, where campers can develop their talents, grow in their faith, and experience college life in a Christ-centered environment.
