Youth Minister Job Description

Overall Responsibility

The Youth Minister of Jamesville Christian Church is primarily responsible for all youth from K-12 grade while maintaining a positive relationship with all ages of youth and adults of Jamesville Christian Church.

Behavior Expectation

The Youth Minister will act with Christian character at all times to the best of his ability representing Jesus and Jamesville Christian Church well.

Youth Minister Expectations

1. Be responsible for and oversee all youth programs and activities for ages K-12 grade.
2. Be involved in or teach a Sunday School class (may rotate between youth classes on a monthly basis)
3. Teach Jr. Church during Morning Worship (may use rotation of volunteers for assistance and crowd control)
4. Start weekly youth group meeting for 6-12 grade.
5. Plan activities for youth that foster spiritual growth, promote unity, allow for fun and to invite friends.
(may plan activities by age group (K-5, 6-12…)
6. Model Christian character for our youth to follow
7. Direct or recruit volunteers to direct Youth Christmas Program each year.
8. Preach in absence of Senior Minister
9. Connect with youth outside of church (athletic games, lunches at school, periodic activities on days when
school’s out…)
10. Be involved in Community VBS each summer.
11. In charge of yearly youth conferences and area events (CCYC, 2:52 Youth, @ MACU…)
12. Plan, organize, and be in charge of Easter Egg Hunt & Trunk-N-Treat each year
13. Excellent communication skills with parents and youth group
14. Give financially to the work of Jamesville Christian Church
15. Other duties as assigned.

Employment Terms

1. Youth Minister will be paid a weekly salary including an additional monthly utility deposit.
2. Youth Minister will be paid for monthly mileage according to IRS rate per mile.
3. Youth Minister must give at least a sixty day notice when resigning from church employment. If Youth Minister
is relased from church employment, he will be given at least a sixty day notice.
4. A parsonage is provided rent free as part of the salary package. The Youth Minister will pay monthly utilities and
is given a utility deposit to help with utility payments. The Youth Minister must protect the parsonage from undue
wear and tear. If anything at parsonage needs repairing or replacing, the Youth Minister must let the Elders know.
