Job Title: Youth and Family Minister
Reports to: Lead Pastor / Executive Pastor
Status: Full-time
Location: Eastern Pines Church, Greenville NC
Position Overview:
The Youth and Family Minister will oversee the spiritual development and discipleship of youth
and families within our church community. This role is designed for someone who is passionate
about guiding the next generation in their faith journey, fostering an environment where youth
and families can grow in relationship with Christ, and supporting parents as they lead their
children in their spiritual development. The Youth and Family Minister will work collaboratively
with the pastoral staff, volunteers, and other ministry leaders to create a thriving and welcoming
environment for families and youth of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:
Youth Ministry:
 Develop and implement programming for children (K-5) and youth (middle school
through high school) that is biblically grounded, age-appropriate, and engaging.
 Preach and teach to youth on topics of faith, discipleship, and Christian living.
 Organize and lead weekly youth services, Bible studies, and other events such as youth
camps, retreats, and conferences.
 Mentor and disciple youth individually and in groups, helping them to build a deeper
relationship with Christ.
 Coordinate and recruit volunteer leaders to support youth ministry activities and provide
guidance and training to ensure quality youth leadership.
 Foster a culture of volunteer appreciation and support.
Family Ministry:
 Create and implement programs for family discipleship and equip parents with tools to
spiritually lead their children.
 Host family-oriented events that build community and strengthen relationships, such as
family nights, parenting workshops, and service opportunities.
 Provide pastoral care to families in the congregation, offering support during times of
crisis, celebration, and spiritual growth.
 Partner with the church staff to ensure that the youth and family ministry vision aligns
with the broader vision and mission of the church.
Ministry Development and Leadership:
 Assist in the planning and execution of church-wide events, including outreach
initiatives, community service projects, and seasonal programs (e.g., Christmas, Easter).

 Engage with the community through outreach programs and relationship-building
efforts with local schools and organizations.
 Maintain effective communication with parents and families regarding upcoming
events, prayer requests, and ministry updates.
 Collaborate with the pastoral team to provide regular updates, share vision, and evaluate
the effectiveness of programs.

Administrative Responsibilities:
 Manage the budget for youth and family ministry, ensuring resources are allocated
appropriately.
 Maintain accurate attendance records, ministry schedules, and contact information.
 Oversee the safety and security of youth events, ensuring all volunteers and staff adhere
to church policies, including background checks and training.
Personal Development and Growth:
 Participate in ongoing personal spiritual development through prayer, Bible study, and
regular connection with pastoral staff.
 Stay informed about trends in youth ministry and family ministry and implement
innovative approaches to ministry as needed.
 Attend church staff meetings and participate in regular reviews with the pastoral team to
assess progress, set new goals, and reflect on ministry direction.

Qualifications:
 Education: Bachelor's degree in ministry, theology, or a related field preferred (or
equivalent experience).
 Experience: Previous experience working with youth and families, especially in a church
setting, is strongly preferred.
 Skills:
o Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
o Ability to communicate effectively with youth, parents, and volunteers.
o Passionate about disciple-making and equipping families for spiritual growth.
o Skilled in teaching, mentoring, and relational ministry.
 Spiritual Requirements: A mature, vibrant faith in Christ and a commitment to living
out biblical values.
 Physical Requirements: Must be able to occasionally lift and carry supplies, set up for
events, and participate in off-site retreats and events.
