Elizabeth City, NC – May 3, 2017. Gregory D. Hand, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mid-Atlantic Christian University (MACU) announced that the board will appoint the Presidential Search Task Force at their meeting later this month.
Constituents are invited to assist in the search. A person may submit his or her own name for consideration or the name of someone else deemed to be a suitable candidate. People whose names have been submitted by others will receive a letter inviting them to apply for the position, if they so desire. All recommendations will be handled with confidentiality and prayerful consideration.
Hand added, “We remain confident that the future of Mid-Atlantic is bright. Yes, these are very challenging times for small, faith-based institutions of higher education, but this endeavor has been challenging for decades. Nevertheless, our role to educate those who will serve in the church and in the marketplace from a Christian worldview has never been more important. We need your support. And right now we need for you to send us names.”
A position description for the President of MACU, complete with application instructions, is found on the university’s website, macuniversity.edu.
MACU’s third president, Dr. D. Clay Perkins, will conclude his presidency June 30. John W. Maurice, Vice President for Institutional Advancement, will become Interim President on July 1. Chairman Hand announced previously that MACU anticipates the “inauguration of our fourth President during our 70th anniversary celebration, likely during the MACU Rally, March 22-23, 2018.”
