Mid-Atlantic Christian University (MACU) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jane Snyder Hodgkins as the University’s new Vice President of Finance. Jane brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in nonprofit, academic, and corporate settings — along with a deeply held Christian faith that aligns with MACU’s mission to prepare servant leaders for the church and society.

Most recently, Jane served as Executive Director of the Albemarle Family YMCA in Elizabeth City, NC, where she provided financial and operational oversight for a $1.8 million facility. Her leadership resulted in a 15% year-over-year increase in annual donations and a 45% expansion in philanthropic programs, including community-impact initiatives like Safety Around Water. She also strengthened board involvement, expanded partnerships, and led long-range planning efforts across membership, wellness, child care, and aquatics.

“Jane’s appointment reflects MACU’s commitment to excellence and biblical leadership,” said John Maurice, President of Mid-Atlantic Christian University. “Her experience in finance and operations is exceptional, but what truly sets her apart is her heart for service, faith, and mission-driven leadership.”

In addition to her extensive nonprofit background, Jane’s earlier career includes senior accounting roles in telecommunications, manufacturing, and media, where she managed treasury operations, financial reporting, investment analysis, and internal audits. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Middle Tennessee State University and has demonstrated lifelong dedication to community service, holding positions with the Albemarle Area United Way Board, Rotary International, and the Committee of 100.

Jane’s faith in Christ is central to her personal and professional life.

“I believe in one sovereign God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — and I affirm the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ,” Snyder shared. “My faith shapes not only my personal life but also how I work and serve others. I view my work as a form of worship and stewardship, and I strive to reflect Christ’s love through integrity, humility, and compassion.”

She continued: “Higher education plays a critical role in developing principled, purpose-driven leaders. I am honored to support that mission at Mid-Atlantic Christian University and excited to be part of a community grounded in truth and service.”
Jane’s appointment marks a continued focus on strengthening MACU’s financial sustainability and mission impact for years to come.
