Mid-Atlantic Christian University Shows Support for Local Law Enforcement Officials
Elizabeth City, NC – January 6, 2015. Mid-Atlantic Christian University supports the men and women of law enforcement who are sworn to serve and protect. Police officers put their lives on the line each day to enforce the law and keep our citizens safe.
On Tuesday, January 6th, President D. Clay Perkins and Vice President of Institutional Advancement John Maurice met with Chief Eddie Buffaloe to express their support for the work of the Elizabeth City Police Department in serving the community.
Dr. Perkins presented Chief Buffaloe with a letter that reads, in part: “Mid-Atlantic Christian University thanks you and the men and women of the Elizabeth City Police Department for the superb work you do to protect and serve the citizens of our community. Law-enforcement is a noble profession and those who do this work keep our communities and families safe.
The Apostle Paul stated that ‘authorities are God’s servants’ and he exhorts Christians to respect and honor those who fulfill their duties well (Romans 13:6-8). Please convey our thanks and appreciation to those in your department who serve willingly, sacrificially, and with honor.”
As a tangible gift of appreciation, MACU provided one complimentary meal ticket for each member of the police department to dine in the cafeteria. MACU is proud to honor those who serve.
