Elizabeth City – Mid-Atlantic Christian is happy to announce that Steve Halsted will be their new volleyball coach for the 2018 season. He makes the move from his previous position at ESCU where he was the coach for the 2016 and 2017 fall seasons. Halsted has also spent 25 years in club volleyball in the Hampton Roads area.
Coach Halsted commented, “I am excited about the new opportunity. I look forward to meeting the players in August. I hope that we can come together quickly, have fun learning the game and have a season we can all be proud of.”
Athletics Director, Andy Meneely states, “Coach Halsted brings the necessary amount of experience and technical expertise to really help our program take the next step. He understands what we stand in being a Christian college. I am looking forward to seeing the strides we can make as we try to grow the volleyball program and the athletics program as a whole.”
Coach Halsted holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Cal State Polytechnic University – Pamona and resides in Norfolk, VA.
The MACU Lady Mustangs will open their season at Pitt Community College on August 23rd.
