Elizabeth City, NC – Mid-Atlantic Christian University (MACU) is excited to announce the renewal of its partnership with Elizabeth City Pasquotank County Parks & Recreation for the continued use of the Knobbs Creek baseball field. Signed on March 17, 2025, this renewed agreement allows the MACU Mustangs to continue calling Knobbs Creek their home for the 2025 season and beyond.
This year’s partnership also introduces a key addition: the opportunity for the Mustangs to sell concessions and encourage the community to attend their home games. With the support of Elizabeth City Pasquotank County Parks & Recreation, the Mustangs are eager to connect with local fans and build a stronger bond between the university and the community.
Mustangs Baseball Earns NSAC and USCAA Honors
MACU Mustang Baseball recently secured four conference wins and delivered outstanding individual performances.
Josiah Collado, a 6’2″ senior from Canton, Georgia, had an exceptional week at the plate, going 11-for-21 (.523 BA) with four doubles, six singles, and six RBIs. His dominance at the plate earned him the NSAC Baseball Player of the Week honor.
Dakota Jacobsen, a 6’0″ senior from Honesdale, Pennsylvania, was a force on the mound. Across 17 innings in two starts against John Melvin (LA) and Lighthouse, he allowed zero earned runs (0.00 ERA) and struck out nine batters, leading to his NSAC Pitcher of the Week recognition.
“Bat for A Cause” Event – March 22, 2025
MACU Baseball is proud to partner with the Ferocious Fighters non-profit organization for the “Bat for A Cause” event, scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2025. The event will raise awareness for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a painful condition that one of MACU’s current students is living with. The university has supported others affected by CRPS in the past, and this event is aimed at educating the community on how they can support those impacted by this chronic illness.
Fans are encouraged to wear orange to “orange out the field” in a show of solidarity and support for the CRPS community. The event will take place at Knobbs Creek Recreational Center, with the first pitch scheduled for Noon.
