Department of Bible and Christian Ministry
Students can pursue any of several levels of study. Whether someone desires a sample of courses for personal enrichment, to someone who desires to prepare for a life of vocational ministry, there are several program options to choose from. Programs include:
Dr. Ken Greene
Youth and Family Ministry Advisor
“No matter how excellent, four years of biblical education cannot provide enough material to fill four decades of ministry. But if a school equips its ministry students with a hunger for truth, an eye for the application of truth, and the ability to excavate the Bible’s infinite supply of truth, 40-50 years is too little time to share it all. MACU prepared me for a lifetime of fresh, relevant ministry. If there are occasions when God’s word comes alive in the church I serve, those moments can be traced back to the MACU campus and classrooms where I was loved, taught, and trained in life-changing ways.”
Eddie Lowen, West Side Christian Church, Springfield, IL
“My Bible Exposition degree is the basis for my curriculum! Knowing how to study the Bible and break through contextual barriers is pivotal when working in a Trauma Informed Care school and engaging students who have a mixed background in regards to the Bible. Additionally, my Youth and Family Ministry degree helps me as I seek to not just be “the Bible teacher;” but, as I strive to hover between teacher and youth pastor.”
Josh Curry, Middle and High School Bible Teacher, Cookson Hills Christian School
“MACU prepared me for life by truly giving me the opportunity and ability to see God in every aspect of life. This is a vital tool that has made a tremendous difference in both my personal life and career. I have the unique ability to walk into a public high school every day and tell 100-120 students to open their Bibles. I would never have been prepared for the weight of that responsibility without my time at MACU and the professors that modeled that for me on a daily basis.”
Kristyn Carter, Bible History Teacher, NC/Next Generation Director, Covington Church, NC
MACU's ministry professors are what sets us part from other colleges.
The mission of these degrees are to equip students with a knowledge of the Bible, interpretive skills, and life-application in order to engage locally and globally in Christian discipleship and leadership within church and parachurch contexts.
