MACU Christmas Concert

Elizabeth City, NC- November 5, 2013.  The MACU Choir of Mid-Atlantic Christian University will present a Christmas musical on Wednesday night, December 4th at 7:30 p.m. on campus in the Davenport Chapel of the Al Blanton Campus Life Center. “Merry Christmas,” by Don Wrytzen and Phil and Lynne Brower, is a musical highlighting Christmas.

“No story on earth has a deeper and stronger meaning than Christmas. Our ears shall always hear the angels sing; our eyes will forever see the brilliance of the single star. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”

The concert is free and open to the public. Donations will be received for the choir program.

The choir is directed by Sandra Perkins and Lisa Williams. Mrs. Williams will lead the vocals and Mrs. Perkins will accompany the choir on the piano. Students in the choir are both freshmen and upper classmen, and come from various states. Many have experience performing in choirs. They are Ariana Avila, Elizabeth Bartlett, Brooke Buzza, Kelsea Fallon, Taylor Holloman, Tiffany Kriss, Sarah Lunceford, Katie Sizemore, Catrina Webster and Becka Woodard. The host narrator for the musical is Demetrius Stokely.  Joshua Bueno will play the part of “Grandpa.” The choir is planning a spring tour during the March spring break. The itinerary is being confirmed for eastern North Carolina and the Piedmont area.

The co-directors of the MACU choir hold other positions at the University. Mrs. Perkins works for the University as Foundation Director and teaches private piano lessons. Mrs. Williams is the Resident Hall Director for the University. She also works in the Institutional Advancement department of the University.
