Elizabeth City, NC – October 23, 2015. Mid-Atlantic Christian University is pleased to announce that the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) has approved the B.S. and B.A. degrees in Business Administration. MACU submitted a substantive change request to SACSCOC to replace the Entrepreneurial Leadership and Organization Leadership programs with the degree in Business Administration. A letter dated October 13, 2015 from Dr. Belle S. Wheelan, SACSCOC President, stated “It was the decision of the Board (of Trustees) to approve the program and include it in the scope of the current accreditation.”
D. Clay Perkins, MACU President states, “the Business Administration degree program will establish a unique program of study that will provide a strong foundation in business and managerial principles, but also provide students the opportunity to select a concentration that represents a particular area of interest and expertise that will reflect the diverse skill sets of our students.” Students may focus their concentration on areas such as organizational leadership or sports management.
The Business Administration program will be available both on-campus and online. Students who receive a B.A. or B.S. in Business Administration from MACU could expect to serve in career fields such as Construction Project Manager, Parks and Recreation Management, Non-profit Administrator, Organizational Management Consultant, Training and Development Manager, Sports Facilities Manager, Sports Communication Relations Director or Sports Front Office Administrator.
Business students, like all other students at MACU, will be required to participate in an internship that will help them hone business acumen, increase networking opportunities, and give them exposure to exceptional leaders from local and national organizations, greatly enhancing their classroom experience.
MACU is a faith-based institution of higher learning that exists to transform ordinary people into extraordinary leaders.
