Suburban Christian Church in Bristol, Virginia, is in search of our next Senior Minister who will lead us into the future. Our ideal minister is evangelistic, positive, and energetic. He has a gift for teaching and a focus on discipleship. The successful candidate will demonstrate a firm belief in Christian Church doctrine and have the qualities listed in 1 Timothy 3:2-7 and Titus 1:6-9. He should also have good administrative skills, superb communication skills, the ability to build relationships across multiple age groups, and the ability to lead and motivate through excellent preaching and teaching. The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in biblical studies, a seminary degree, and/or significant ministry experience.

Suburban Christian Church is located in Bristol, Virginia, the twin city of Bristol, Tennessee, and is approximately two hours from both Roanoke, Virginia, and Knoxville, Tennessee. At the 2010 Census, the two Bristols together had a population of 44,500. Bristol VA/TN, Johnson City, TN, and Kingsport, TN, make up the area known as the Tri-Cities. Our area has all four seasons and a temperate climate. Bristol, known as “the Birthplace of Country Music,” hosts the annual Rhythm and Roots celebration, and offers many shopping options. Historic Abingdon, just a short drive from our campus, offers additional shopping, as well as tourist sites, such as the Barter Theater, (the State Theater of Virginia), the Martha Washington Inn, antique shopping, and access to the Virginia Creeper Trail.

Our church is situated near Interstate 81, giving access to the states of Kentucky, Tennessee, and North Carolina, the Appalachian Mountains, TVA lakes, and the Tri-Cities airport.  Bristol offers excellent health care options and schools. This area offers great potential for growth and outreach.

Our church, with a remodeled sanctuary, a multi-use fellowship area, and an education wing, sits on five acres and is debt free. Also, on site is a three-bedroom, two-bath parsonage. Attendance currently ranges between thirty and forty for Sunday morning worship. We have a desire to grow through the addition of young families with children. We are active in our outreach program supporting missionary work overseas, nationally, and locally. We provide food boxes to the needy on a monthly basis, and offer benevolence to children, families, and the homeless.
