| Description of Position/Benefits/Church: | Horsepasture Christian Church is a loving and growing congregation located near Martinsville, VA. We are searching for a Associate Youth Minister to help us in our efforts to reach our community and beyond with the love and Gospel of Jesus Christ. The main area of focus for this position would be youth ministry, but there would also be other areas of focus that would fall under the “associate” role. The youth ministry is healthy and has a strong team of amazing youth workers. The position has become available as a result of the upcoming retirement of our Senior Minister. Our current Associate and Youth Minister is moving into his position and will be around to assist the new minister as he transitions into his new role.
Qualifications The right candidate will be a man of God that makes his walk with Christ the top priority of his life. He will be a man of integrity, striving to provide an example to both the congregation at Horsepasture Christian Church and the community. He will believe in the total inspiration and absolute authority of the Bible as God’s written Word. He must successfully pass a background check. A degree from a Bible College relevant to ministry is preferred, but not essential. Youth Ministry Responsibilities -Oversight and participation of all middle/high school classes, programs, and events -Promotion and participation in middle/high school weeks of camp at Camp Pitt in Pittsylvania County, VA. -Development and nurturing of effective discipleship and outreach strategies for middle/high school students -Recruiting and training of youth workers to assist in the youth ministry -Assisting the current Upward Ministry team with Upward Basketball/Cheerleading Associate Ministry Responsibilities -Assisting with the preaching responsibility for Sunday mornings, preaching at least ten Sundays a year – Participating in Elders Meetings and Board Meetings to assist in the overall vision forming and direction of the church -Assisting with forming and supporting small groups ministry -Other responsibilities can be assumed based on the Associate Youth Ministers interests, giftedness, and calling (No new responsibilities would be assigned without the full knowledge and input from the Associate Youth Minister) Contact Information Anyone interested in this position should contact: Kyle Thompson Phone: (740) 390-9005 Email: kyle@horsepasture.org |
