| Description of Position/Benefits/Church: | Bowling Green Christian Church is an independent Christian church aligned with the Restoration Movement. We are a young congregation with many newlywed couples, young families, and youth joining together in worship. Our membership is about 400 with an average in-person worship of over 200 every Sunday (over 300 pre-Covid). In 2016 we doubled our facility size when we built the WOC (Worship & Outreach Center) with very little debt. In addition to our contemporary worship service we have an active Kids’ Place ministry on Sunday mornings. Sunday nights are alive with activity when AWANA (Pre-K – 3rd grade), Bridge (4th & 5th grades), and Student Ministry (6th – 12th grades) meet. Throughout the week we have Community Groups meeting in people’s homes or here at our campus.
We are active in our community and partner with other area churches to show Christ’s love to BG. Through MEALS INC, we make sure meals get delivered every Saturday to local residents in need. During winter months we open our doors to homeless residents in need of a place to sleep, eat, and shower. We also work with Bristow Elementary school to provide things like Christmas assistance and school supplies. Additionally, we partner with WKU CSF to connect with the over 15,000 students at Western Kentucky University (Go Tops!). We are looking for our next youth minister to lead our junior & senior high ministries (6th-12th grades), co-lead our Bridge ministry (4th & 5th grades), and preach quarterly. Our senior minister (who leads the staff team) has been at BGCC for over 15 years and our last full-time youth minister was here for 8.
