Mid-Atlantic Christian University Announces the Sixty-Sixth Opening Convocation Service to be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. in the Davenport Chapel.
The public is invited to attend the Convocation Service which marks the beginning of the academic year at Mid-Atlantic Christian University. The program will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the processional of the academic staff. Congregational singing will be led by student Brandon Davis. Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Kevin Larsen, will present diplomas to Meredith Glover who is receiving the Bachelor of Science degree in the field of Organizational Leadership, and to Chris Matchem receiving the Bachelor of Science degree in Preaching and Biblical Exposition. The Convocation message will be delivered by John W. Maurice, Jr., Commander US Navy and Director of CREDO Mid-Atlantic Region. Commander Maurice is an alumus of Mid-Atlantic Christian University and serves on the Board of Trustees.
Hilda S. Watson Memorial Dedication
During the Convocation ceremony the University will celebrate the dedication of the Hilda Watson Memorial. The gift was given by Roy Watson in memory of his wife, Hilda Sadler Watson. There will be a reception in the gymnasium following the service for the Watson family and friends.
