Carolina Christian Youth Convention (CCYC) 2025: MACU Students Serve & Inspire

Feb 24, 2025 | News

This year, 14 students and staff from Mid-Atlantic Christian University had the opportunity to partner with the Carolina Christian Youth Convention (CCYC) in Greensboro, North Carolina. Our team of Mustangs stepped up to serve, lead, and connect with over 2,200 attendees, helping make CCYC an unforgettable experience for all.

MACU Students in Action at CCYC

Our students volunteered in multiple areas, contributing to the conference’s success by assisting with:

  • Workshops
  • Offerings & Vendor Booths
  • Merchandise Sales
  • Games & Activities
  • Event Set-up & Take-down

We’re proud of our students for embodying Christ-centered servant leadership and playing an active role in encouraging the next generation of ministry leaders.

Next Gen Ministry Search: Encouraging Future Preachers

MACU was also honored to help launch the Next Gen Ministry Search, a program designed to equip and inspire young leaders. Participants prepared and delivered short devotional messages, with seven students making it to the final round of live competition at CCYC.

As part of our commitment to developing future Christian leaders, MACU awarded scholarships to the finalists:

  • 1st Place – Courtney Berry (Philippi Church of Christ, Creswell, NC) → 1/2 tuition scholarship 💡
  • 2nd Place (Tie) – Colin Barclift (Towne South Church of Christ, Elizabeth City, NC) & Makayla Petrovich (Jarvisburg Church of Christ, Grandy, NC) → 1/4 tuition scholarship
  • All other finalists → $500 scholarship

These scholarships will be available for students who apply and attend MACU, and we’re excited to continue this initiative next year!

Looking Ahead to CCYC 2026

CCYC 2025 was an incredible experience for our team, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve, mentor, and invest in the next generation of Christian leaders. We look forward to returning next year and seeing even more students take part in this life-changing event!
