Brief Biography:
Dr. King earned an undergraduate degree in Business Administration-Management from the College of William and Mary. He then pursued an area of interest, people and how they work (or better, how they don’t work), earning a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling from Regent University. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPCS) in the State of NC and certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NCC). Being interested in how people make up organizations, he earned a PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. His professional interests include high-performing organizations, leadership, organizational structure and governance, continuous improvement, and interpersonal relationships.
He worked federal civilian service for over 32 years in areas such as logistics, clinical counseling and family services, and then organizational performance, process improvement, and enterprise-level consulting.
Dr. King is married and has two grown children. His favorite “hobby” is refereeing high school football, for over 25 years. He also enjoys geocaching and is a locksmith. He recently hit a milestone by finding his 1,500th cache. He is a Registered Parliamentarian having passed the examination on The Rules of Order, Newly Revised (what most people call “Robert’s Rules of Order”).
