He is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPCS) in the State of NC and certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NCC). Being interested in how people make up organizations, he earned a PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. He worked federal civilian service for over 32 years in areas such as logistics, clinical counseling and family services, and then organizational performance, process improvement, and enterprise-level consulting.
Dr. King is married and has two grown children. He is also a “proud papa” to a Basset Hound, Josephine. His favorite “hobby” is refereeing high school football, for over 25 years. He also enjoys geocaching and is a locksmith. He recently hit a milestone by finding his 1,500th cache. He is a Registered Parliamentarian having passed the examination on The Rules of Order, Newly Revised (what most people call “Robert’s Rules of Order”).
