Missing Persons

Mid-Atlantic Christian University has established its Missing Persons policy in accordance with Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (20 USC 1092 (j)) to provide information and procedures for reporting a missing person.

Notification

If a student is believed to be missing a report should be made to:

 

  • a Resident Assistant
  • the Resident Hall Diretor
  • the Vice President for Student Services

 

The university will immediately conduct an investigation.  No longer than 24 hours after a report has been filed, the University will notify the individual's designated contact or (for persons under 18 years of age and not emancipated) the individual's parent or guardian to notify them that the individual is believed to be missing.  Additionally, within 24 hours of recieving a report, the university will notify law enforcement.
