MACU and VEF host Marriage Seminars

November 26, 2014

Elizabeth City, NC – November 26, 2014.

On Monday and Tuesday, January 26-27, Mid-Atlantic Christian University will host a three hour seminar for ministers and interested church leaders regarding Marriage. The seminars will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at noon. The seminar will be conducted in Charlottesville, Virginia, on the 26th and in Greensboro, North Carolina, on the 27th.

Marriage is one of the most important cultural issues the church and our nation will face this decade. The news headlines continue to highlight the volatility of same-sex marriage in the country.  What is an appropriate response for the church to make regarding same-sex marriage? How will the law affect churches and those tasked with the responsibility of conducting wedding ceremonies? What is an appropriate pastoral response to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA) persons in our churches? How can the redemptive love of Christ impact their lives through the church?

At the seminar we will address the biblical teaching regarding sex, marriage, and one flesh union. An attorney will address the issue of legal protections through by-laws. The seminar will close with a discussion on pastorally ministering to people from the LGBTQIA community.

This seminar is for ministers and church leaders only.

MACU is pleased to partner with the Virginia Evangelizing Fellowship to co-host this seminar as a ministry to the church.  Locations of the seminars will be announced in January.

Please call or email John Maurice, Vice President Institutional Advancement, to confirm your attendance.
