Lieutenant Governor Dan Forest to Speak at MACU Convocation on August 22


Elizabeth City, NC – June 25, 2017.  Mid-Atlantic Christian University is pleased to announce that North Carolina’s Lieutenant Governor, Dan Forest, will speak at this year’s Convocation Chapel on August 22 at 9:30 a.m. in the Davenport Chapel. 

Lieutenant Governor Forest was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia.  He is the 34th and current Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina, a position he has held since January 7, 2013.  Forest is only the second Republican to be elected as Lieutenant Governor since 1897.  He serves as President of the state Senate and is a voting member of the State Board of Education, the State Board of Community Colleges, the state Economic Development Board and is the chair of the eLearning Commission.

Forest holds a B.A, in architecture from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a M.A. from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, College of Architecture.  He is a former senior partner of Little Diversified Architectural Consulting.

LTGOV Forest advocates that faith is one of the fundamental foundations of America.  He and his wife, Alice, have four children and reside in Raleigh, NC.  Vice President for Institutional Advancement, John W.
