Alleged Shooter Near the Mid-Atlantic Christian University Campus

Elizabeth City, NC – April 3, 2019 –

 At approximately 10:25 this morning, Pasquotank County 911 services received two phone calls containing a threat regarding a possible shooter on or near the Mid-Atlantic Christian University Campus.  Elizabeth City Police, Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office and North Carolina Highway Patrol officers responded. The campus was placed on lockdown with the students sheltering-in-place in classrooms and dormitories.  There was no active shooter. All personnel are safe. Counselors and staff are continuing to monitor and support our students. After an exhaustive search of the entire campus, the lock-down was released just after noon today. Classes will resume at 2:00 PM today.
