Position Available: Teen Minister (Grades 9-12)

Reports to: Family Ministry Team Leader

Job Description

1. As part of the Family Ministry team this position will oversee the High School Ministry (Grades 9-12) component

2. Continue developing and casting vision for the high school ministry using Discipleship, Missional Community, and Orange philosophies of ministry. The vision for the high school ministry must correspond with overall church vision.

3. Create and implement outreach programs.

4. Recruit and train adult volunteers. Training will occur at regularly scheduled training sessions.

5. Responsible for programs that will promote discipleship and spiritual growth among the group.

6. Build community with adult volunteers.

7. Build community between students through missional communities and other regularly scheduled programs.

8. Administrate, schedule, communicate with volunteers and publicize effectively.

9. Create and implement a feedback/evaluation process using feedback from volunteer leadership team and the youth.

10. Prepare yearly goals and budget for approval by the eldership and be responsible for its implementation.

11. Work schedule will require flexible hours including evenings and weekends to enable you to be involved in the life of the teens.

Youth Minister

West Waynesboro Church of Christ is seeking a full time Youth Minister. The Associate/Youth Minister would be expected to serve as a spiritual leader and resource person in administering, leading, developing, and coordinating a comprehensive program of Christian education for all youth. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that directly correlates to a minimum of an Associate’s degree in Divinity, Ministry, Bible Study, Theology, or other related field of study from an accredited Bible College, University, or Seminary, associated with the Restoration Movement, and/or at least two years of progressively responsible prior experience as a youth minister or assistant of a small to medium sized congregation. Student Ministry

The Nesconset Christian Church, a vibrant and healthy Long Island church of 225 seeks a full time Student Ministry Pastor.  The student ministry pastor must be someone who emulates the life of Jesus and who the students can see Jesus in the way he lives his life. He gives great attention to his own personal walk with Jesus and displays noticeable evidences of spiritual authenticity.

Among other skills, we seek a person who is able to attract, lead and motivate people to accomplish the work of ministry and has a vision he can’t stop talking about. He also will possess a strong understanding of God’s Word and is bold in his teaching as he challenges students to become more like Jesus.

Youth Minister

Youth Minister

Laurel Avenue Church of Christ in Chesapeake, Virginia is seeking a solid, mature,
doctrinally sound Youth Minister. They will consider an upperclassman student for 
the position. Laurel Avenue is a growing church located in the Hampton Roads area of 
Virginia, approximately one hour from Elizabeth City.
The church is looking for a someone who could help restart/rebuild a youth program 
for middle school and high schoolers. They have a solid volunteer staff for the 
preschool/elementary ages. Preference is for someone with a little experience. This is 
a perfect situation for a student to gain practical experience while they are completing 
their formal education. The church owns a very nice 3 bedroom parsonage located next 
to the church for someone needing housing. Salary considerations, job description, and 
other items would be negotiated.

Youth Ministry Coodinator

The Youth Ministry Coordinator (YMC) will develop and implement religious ministries for the military children of Naval Air Station Oceana.  

The YMC shall provide all volunteer help and attending youth with spiritual development programs and activities. All programs and/or activities shall have Christ-centered content and be structured so that youth will meet, learn, and grow in spiritual and ethical values, character building, social issues awareness, and life-style choices. Sensitivity and respect for other faith groups shall be maintained.

 

The YMC’s responsibilities shall include:

·        Children and youth programs (Children: defined herein as K-6th grades and Youth as 7-12)

·        Adult volunteer development and training

·        Parent support group coordination,

·        Planning meetings

·        Reports required by supervising Chaplain

·        Senior high and middle school leadership training

·        Retreats and camps in support of each of the above-named communities, with particular emphasis on children’s ministry.

 

The YMC will ensure all program activities are coordinated with the Command Chaplain. Funding and location issues will be coordinated with the Director of Chaplains Religious Enrichment Development Operation (CREDO) Mid-Atlantic. Contact information is listed below!

High School and Young Adult Minister

Position Description

 

SLCC Mission: South Lansing Christian Church helps people write the next chapter in their faith stories by creating environments where they can seek, study and serve God.

Job Title: TBD

Reports to: Senior Minister, primarily, and also the SLCC Elders

Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Classification: Clergy – Permanent – Full-time

Hours: 10-12 four-hour blocks per week. (40-48 hours)

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree, minimum

Purpose: Assists ages 15-29 in writing the next chapters of their faith stories.

Description: Responsible for helping high school students and young adults (ages 15-29) write the next chapters in their faith stories.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Overseeing Modified, SLCC’s High School Ministry
    • Develops and implements Ministry Action Plan for high school ministry.
    • Recruits, equips and encourages volunteer staff.
    • Plans weekly gatherings and special events together with volunteer staff.
    • Develops student leader team
    • Interacts with students Sunday mornings, at Modified gatherings and throughout the week.
    • Participates with Lansing Area Youth Ministry in planning and participating in area-wide youth group events.
    • Plans trips to CIY, Michigan Statewide Youth Rally, Fusion and other youth events that help students to grow as disciples.
    • Counsels with high school students and parents as needed.
    • Oversees Young Adult Ministry
      • Develops and implements Ministry Action Plan for young adult ministry.
      • Develops a network of small group leaders and assistants.
        • Recruits, equips and encourages small group leaders.
        • Develops a plan for exponential growth within 19-29 year old small groups.
        • Serves on SLCC Discipleship Team
          • Attends regular team meetings and serves as resource for team.
          • Assists discipleship team in developing small group leadership.
          • Assists discipleship team in encouraging new group formation.

 

  • Serves on the Next Generation team to accomplish the goals of Connect, SLCC’s three-year strategic plan
    • Attends regular meetings
    • Offers input on vision casting for Next Gen team.
    • Serves on the SLCC staff team
      • Attends weekly staff meetings and regular elders’ meetings.
      • Offers creative input with church-wide initiatives.
      • Works with ministerial staff to coordinate Modified teaching series with Adult teaching series, when possible.
      • Assists with other ministerial tasks (preaching, teaching, etc.) on an as needed basis.
