Creative Arts Pastor

Discovery Christian Church in Bristol, TN is looking for a Creative Arts Pastor.  This talented contemporary worship leader would be in charge of creating our Sunday morning services.  The Creative Arts Pastor would have the freedom to create a service with powerful worship and interactive elements.  The Pastor would lead a great worship team already in place with state of the art facilities.  Above all else, we are looking for someone who actively pursues following Jesus in his own life and in the life of this church.
 
Discovery is a 5-year-old contemporary, outreach-oriented church averaging 300 in attendance. We have a 1-year-old building sitting on 80 acres of land on the outer edge of Bristol, TN. The staff is highly creative and thrives on thinking outside the box. The potential for this engaging and experiential church is limitless for reaching Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.

Part-time Worship Leader

Liberty Christian Church in Mechanicsville, Virginia is looking for someone to help us by leading the music during our Sunday morning service.  We are a small congregation of about 80 people.  Currently we have a person that leads music and plays guitar, a drummer, and a bass player.  We need a person that can lead and play guitar/piano. This is a part time position for Sunday morning only at this time.

Full-time Worship Minister

Central Christian Church of Rockford, Illinois is seeking a full-time worship minister.  We are working to be a church body that is intentionally reaching the next generation and making them into disciples who make disciples. We are looking for a man of godly character to join us in this journey.

The Worship Minister will lead the church to worship, with the freedom to creatively engage our community’s culture while promoting the vision of the church.  This is part of an overall determination to reach unchurched and de-churched people of our community.  This includes designing our 2nd worship hour as a weekly event to engage millennials and gen-X’ers – a contemporary worship service.  This staff member will be the developer and administrator of music and other worship components, including organization and the technical end of worship leading.

 Who we are:

Stafford County Christian Church (SCCC) is a non-denominational church located approximately 45 minutes south of Washington DC. Stafford County is a significant suburb of the Capital with a very large and growing population, and benefits from all the latest technological advancements. We also have a large military presence which is reflected in our church body demographics. The community surrounding the church is growing rapidly and offers incredible ministry opportunities. At this time, plans and construction are already in motion to add an additional 2900 homes in the area immediately surrounding SCCC. We’re excited about what that means for outreach and discipling opportunities. The vision of SCCC is “To create Christ followers who are bold for Christ.”

 

What we are looking for:

We are prayerfully seeking a part-time worship director with a goal of growing the position to full time as the church grows. We desire to find someone who is passionate about creating a meaningful and excellent worship experience at SCCC. We are looking for someone who can engage and lead our talented volunteers and help us grow participation. We are also looking for someone who can work with our Senior Pastor to develop a vision for continuing development and improvement of worship at SCCC.

 

Primary Commitments:

  • To be a catalyst, with an energetic, engaging personality and passion for worshiping God both personally and corporately
  • Lead and be a regular integral participant with other worship team members in weekly worship services 
  • Build strong relationships with the staff, elders, and core worship ministry team

                                 

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position the applicant must:

  • Have prior experience leading a worship ministry. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study is desirable.
  • Be competent with both instrumental and vocal music and able to lead and teach others in both areas
  • Have experience and competence in use of multimedia and drama in worship services
  • Have strong Christian character, belief that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and live out a solid Christ-like example
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a passion for excellence and continuous development in all areas of the worship ministry
  • Be a strategic thinker who is able to create and successfully implement new worship elements
  • Be able to collaborate with fellow staff toward the common church vision
  • Have a teachable spirit, humble heart, and a bold passion to help people have a dynamic worship experience
  • Be able to adapt to the needs of SCCC and its growing congregation
  • Be committed to the Biblical positions of the independent Christian Churches / Churches of Christ

 

Key Areas of Focus:

  • Overseeing all areas of the worship ministry (music, sound, multimedia, drama)
  • Establishing and leading effective rehearsal/preparation times
  • Recruiting, training, and discipling both team leaders and vocal and/or instrumental participants

 

Worship Leader Development:

  • Lead the ministry with passion, excitement, and vision
  • Identify, recruit, train, place and empower new leaders into the ministry team
  • Set up monthly meetings to collaborate in creating, developing, implementing, and continually assessing the effectiveness of an enticing, passionate worship ministry
