Full - time Worship Leader

Discovery Church, a body of believers in the Christian Church faith tradition, in Bristol TN., is looking for a full time Worship Leader.  This talented contemporary worship leader will be in charge of the worship experiences at Discovery.  One of the trademarks of Discovery is powerful worship and interactive experiences.  The leader will lead a great worship team already in place with state of the art facilities. 
 
The right candidate should also have a background in visual arts.  We do in-house videos and graphics so gifting in video editing and graphic arts would be a must. 
 
Depending on the gifting of the Worship Leader they might oversee various other ministerial areas at Discovery.
 
We are looking for a leader who is both comfortable leading from stage and having a one-on-one conversation about Jesus.  We are looking for someone who can both sing and lead instrumentally. Above all else, we are looking for someone who actively pursues following Jesus in his own life and in the life of this church.
 
Discovery is a 5-year-old contemporary, outreach-oriented church averaging 300 in attendance. We have a large 2-year-old building sitting on 80 acres of land on the outer edge of Bristol, TN. We are looking for ways to serve our community and reach the lost in creative and effective ways.  The potential for this engaging and experiential church is limitless for reaching Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.

Christ Community Church in Beatrice, NE is looking for a full-time Worship Pastor.

Position Description: This person will serve as primary leader of the worship and creative arts ministry of the church. The purposes of the position are to lead and facilitate an atmosphere in which God is worshipped and glorified and the building up of the body of Christ.
In addition to passing a criminal background check as a condition of employment, the worship pastor must:
  • Have a clear testimony/assurance of his salvation.
  • Feels called by God into full time ministry.
  • Has a consistent record of being passionate for the body of Christ.
  • Demonstrates spiritual maturity.
  • Becomes a member of Christ Community Church.
  • Consistent Quiet Time.
  • Devoted to Prayer.
  • Regular Bible Study habits and ability to share the Gospel verbally.
  • Qualifies under 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
  • Believes the Bible is the inspired Word of God.
  • Gifted to lead congregation into meaningful worship.
  • Able to organize and conduct all areas of creative arts as needed.
  • Possess effective communications skills (both orally and written).
  • Possess good time management skills by being on time for practices, performances, and church services.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Possess the interpersonal skills needed to relate to a diverse group of people such as pastoral staff, musicians, actors, church leaders, members and attenders.
  • Practices service and teamwork above self.
  • Primary Functions Oversee all production and creative elements for worship.
  • Identify, invite, mentor and empower leaders to be part of the Creative Arts Ministry.
  • Plan and organize all elements of services with staff.
  • Lead all worship services in worship as the lead musician and vocalist.
  • Be willing to lead in other environments as necessary.
  • Lead in worship with passion, energy and professionalism.
  • Lead in worship through teaching the pursuit of the presence of Christ.
  • Lead choir and special music in the worship services at least twice a month.
  • Use other areas of the Creative Arts Ministry in the worship services as appropriate.
  • Develop volunteers to embrace and develop their skills and gifts to share with the church body.
  • Participate in all staff meetings and functions as a team player.
  • Lead drama activities for Sunday morning worship and special services including a Christmas focused service or services.
  • Lead in education of children and youth ministries for worship and the creative arts.
  • Plan and coordinate weekly services for worship.
  • Plan and coordinate special services for worship.
  • Be available to facilitate and serve for funerals and weddings.
  • Lead in organization of set up of stage area.
  • Organize and clean storage areas for Creative Arts Ministry.
  • Lead, manage, recruit technical volunteers for sound reinforcement, video projection and lighting.
  • Help plan and lead when needed holiday services.
  • Market special events.

Office hours 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. as needed to complete ministry functions. Monday through ThursdayFriday and Saturday are days that the office is not open. There will be other hours required that are not office hours to complete job functions.

Instruments Preferred: Guitar & efficient in piano is preferred
Skills Preferred: He will be responsible for all areas of worship including the worship center. This would mean that he does not have to be an expert in all areas, but he will be the leader so there has to be a good base. Would want him to be an expert in communicating a message in an excellent way that draws people into worship. He will need to be able to arrange music. Read and play music on a piano so that he can lead the choir in practice. We use Proclaim for our presentation software so he would have to learn how to do that, but it is easy to learn.
Years of Experience: 5+ of full time worship ministry experience required
Reports to: Responsible to the Senior Pastor. Practice and support the constitution of the church. Practice and support the policies and procedures of the church. Make fill-in arrangements when unable to perform duties as described during services or practices.

  Tates Creek Christian Church, Lexington, Kentucky, is seeking a Contemporary Worship Leader & Creative Arts Minister.  The position is full-time and will include responsibility for planning and coordinating the weekly Contemporary Worship service to lead worshippers to the throne of God and to enhance the sermon. In establishing and leading the Creative Arts Ministry, the position will be responsible for finding creative ways to help communicate the weekly themes and special programs up to and including short videos, graphics, and musical drama programs.  GENERAL FUNCTION:

Responsible to the Senior Minister for planning, coordinating, and promoting creative aspects of ongoing and special programs and church publications.  Responsibilities also include leadership of the contemporary worship service.

 CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP LEADER/DIRECTOR ROLE

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Develop, in conjunction with Senior Minister, appropriate annual and weekly worship service themes and plans.
  • Lead worship in the contemporary service.
  • Coordinate volunteers and musicians with set up/tear down with special attention to the audio and visual equipment.
  • Evaluate lyrics of all music to ensure they are biblically sound.
  • Provide ministerial guidance to those involved in the service.
  • Develop creative elements to reinforce the ideas put forth in the sermon.
  • Develop services that will be meaningful and relevant and provide a multi-sensory worship experience and learning environment.
  • Use social media to communicate vision, themes, topics, and to keep open lines of communication with those who attend.
  • Keep current with new worship music and implement into the service.
  • Spend time memorizing music to better engage the congregation with eye contact.
  • Spend time working on transitions between songs/service elements so there is no “dead time”.
  • Promote the contemporary service to the community and to all nearby colleges and universities. 
  • Provide service opportunities through music, set-up/tear-down, audio/video, greeters, etc.
  • Provide service projects/opportunities outside of the service.
  • Lead and oversee all rehearsals.
  • Recruit new musicians and volunteers.
  • Develop all front of house presentations (ProPresenter).
  • Preview and select video elements.
  • Provide training for all audio/video tech volunteers.

 CREATIVE ARTS MINISTER ROLE

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Leads Communications Team in generating ideas and plans to support and promote church activities, ministries, and special events.
  • Works with staff to develop and produce video presentations for desired aspects of church ministry.
  • Maintain Social Networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) with excellence.
  • Design service communication pieces that support and enhance the service experience including any announcement videos and ministry promotional videos
  • Oversee video testimonies.
  • Design message series theme graphics or oversee production by an outside firm.
  • Stays abreast of current graphic design trends, software and publishing resources, printing, and photography updates.
  • Design graphics for special events or as requested by leadership. May utilize an outside design firm as necessary.
  • Oversees and coordinates photography support for church activities.
  • Oversees content and layout of programs on in-house monitors.
  • Oversees presentation of church web app.
  • Oversees presentation of church website.

 PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Musical abilities.
  • Proficient vocally (singing) and with guitar and / or keyboard.
  • Working knowledge of sound and media technology.
  • Experience with leading or administration of a contemporary service.
  • Experience in media and creative arts, especially with regard to technology.
  • Proven success in ability to utilize volunteers and lead a team.

 QUALIFICATIONS

 To perform this ministry job successfully, it is expected the candidate have a college degree or be working toward the degree.   Specifically, that education / training would be in an area of Christian ministry and likely from a school recognized by the Tates Creek Christian Church Elders.  Proficiency and comfort in the use of the computer and other technology is vital to success in this position.

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 This position requires standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, pulling, and lifting up to 40 pounds.  In an eight-hour shift, this position may require sitting for five hours and standing or walking for three hours.
