Family Life Minister

Position Summary

 The Family Life Minister is responsible for shepherding the children and youth of Peachtree Christian Church and their parents on the journey to become mature followers of Jesus Christ.  He (or she)[*] is the champion of our ministries to families with children “from birth certificate to diploma,” and leads the integration of those families into the life of the church as a whole.  The Family Life Minister is a member of the pastoral staff reporting directly to the Senior Pastor and provides a loving, approachable pastoral presence to families with children in the home.

 Qualifications

 The Family Life Minister must have a strong Biblical faith, be theologically aligned with Peachtree Christian Church, and have a strong desire to work with young people and their families.  He must possess the ability to create, lead, and grow well-rounded, biblically-grounded programs for families; recruit, train, and organize volunteers; and work successfully as a team member with other church staff and key lay leaders.

 The Family Life Minister must have excellent organizational and developmental skills, have a caring nature, and be able to listen to and communicate successfully with a broad range of people, but particularly with young people.

Minimum Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Ministry/Education or related field preferred
  • Standing as an Ordained or Commissioned Minister or willingness to pursue standing.
  • Extensive experience working with children, youth and families
  • Proficient with electronic communication and social media

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provide Christian leadership and spiritual guidance to children, youth, parents, and families.
  2. Administer the Nursery, Children’s and Youth programs of Peachtree Christian Church to ensure each area is developing and maintaining a Christ-centered program of the highest quality to Share Christ, Build Believers and Serve Others.
  3. Supervise the Nursery Director, Children’s Director, Youth Director, and Children’s Music Director.
  4. Serve as a member of the pastoral staff reporting directly to the Senior Pastor.

A.    Ministry to Parents and Families

  1. Establish personal relationships with and provide spiritual guidance to parents and families.
  2. Provide guidance and support to children, youth, parents, and families.
  3. Reach out to visiting and new member families and help them connect to the nursery, children’s, and youth programs and to the broader church.
  4. Work with the Adult Bible Fellowship Ministry and the staff liaison to develop classes, small groups, and programs of interest to parents.

 

  1. B.     Administrative Responsibilities

Nursery

  1. Work to develop and maintain a high quality, welcoming program of excellence for Peachtree’s Nursery.
  2. Reach out to new parents and establish personal relationships with young families.
  3. Oversee hiring and training of Nursery staff.
  4. Work with the Nursery Director to recruit and train parent volunteers for the Nursery area.
  5. Work with the Childtown director to maintain the safety, cleanliness and appearance of the nursery and ensure the area is mutually beneficial.
  6. Provide leadership and presence to ensure a safe, comfortable, welcoming environment.
  7. Actively promote the Nursery ministry

Children

  1. Meet regularly with the Children’s Ministry to ensure shared vision and goals.
  2. Establish personal relationships and encourage the spiritual development of children.
  3. Supervise the selection of Biblically-based curriculum, in harmony with the theological guidance given by the Senior Pastor.
  4. Work with the Children’s Ministry, Children’s Director, and Children’s Music Director to plan, organize and implement a full program of classes, activities, events and opportunities for children and families.
  5. Work with the Children’s Director to recruit, train and support teachers and leaders.
  6. Oversee Children’s Music Director, lending leadership, support and guidance to performance selections and communications.
  7. Promote the active attendance of all children.
  8. Ensure the maintenance and appearance of the children’s area.

Youth

  1. Meet regularly with the Youth Ministry to ensure shared vision and goals.
  2. Establish personal relationships and encourage the spiritual development of youth.
  3. Supervise the selection of curriculum for Youth Sunday School in harmony with the theological guidance given by the Senior Pastor.
  4. Provide leadership in identifying and developing appropriate programs.
  5. Work with the Youth Director to develop youth leadership in determining goals and priorities.
  6. Work with the Youth Ministry and Youth Director to provide a well rounded Youth program to include monthly service, social and learning opportunities.
  7. Work with the Youth Director to recruit and train Youth Sunday School teachers and Youth Sponsors.
  8. Provide leadership and presence, as needed, on Sunday evenings.
  9. Oversee the CAST program, lending leadership, support and guidance to script selection, tour itinerary, travel arrangements, and communications.

10.  Monitor the PCC Youth Group FaceBook page.

11.  Ensure the maintenance and appearance of the Youth area. 

C.    Supervision of Personnel

  1. Supervise the Nursery Director, Children’s Director, Youth Director, and Children’s Music Director.
  2. Ensure each Director is developing, growing, and maintaining a Christ-centered program of the highest quality to Share Christ, Build Believers, and Serve Others. 

D.    Pastoral Staff Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Carry out the general duties of the church’s pastoral staff: serving in worship services, weddings, funerals, pastoral calls, and other duties and tasks as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
  2. Serve as the staff resource person to the Children’s and Youth Ministries to establish shared vision and goals and transform ideas into actions.
  3. Represent the vision, goals and needs of the Nursery, Children’s and Youth areas and those of parents and families to the ministry staff and the broader church.
  4. Maintain effective communication of programs, schedules and events through the Crossroads, emails, FaceBook, and postal mailings.
  5. Attend weekly staff meetings.
  6. Attend the monthly Official Board meetings.
  7. Maintain an ongoing plan of continuing education through seminars, conventions, and other programs as approved by the Senior Pastor.

Central Christian College of the Bible

Central Christian College of the Bible develops servant-leaders for the Church.  In order to fulfill that mission, Central’s enrollment services team exists to identify, recruit, enroll, retain and graduate students who will pursue ministry careers.

It is the task of the Admissions Support Assistant to communicate Central’s mission to potential students, their parents, and other people of influence, local churches, schools, homes, college fairs, camps, conferences, retreats, and other appropriate places in an effort to recruit qualified potential students.  The Admissions Support Assistant assists the Director of Admissions, Admissions Team, Admissions Committee, and Enrollment Team in administrating the team’s efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Schedule and coordinate campus visits and visit events for prospective students
  2. Answer, register and confirm email/online requests for campus visits
  3. Schedule and communicate with Admissions Counselors and appropriate departments for requested items relating to prospective student visits
  4. Prepare all materials for visits and events
  5. Schedule overnight guests into hospitality rooms
  6. Prepare appropriate information with residence life staff for guests arriving after hours
  7. Recruit and train hospitality hosts
  8. Recruit and train tour guides
  9. Oversee tour guides
  10. Facilitate parts of campus visits as needed (tours, lunch, etc.)
  11. Schedule and maintain the visit event calendar
  12. Establish and maintain best practices for visits and visit events
  13. Process and facilitate campus visit follow-up communication
  14. Participate in Welcome Weekend and on-campus recruiting events for junior and senior high students
    1. Oversee the admissions publicity pieces inventory
    2. Keep an accurate count of materials
    3. Communicate inventory needs to Director of Admissions
      1. Receive and process paperwork submitted by applicants in coordination with Data Coordinator
      2. Create and edit records in AdmitGold
      3. Scan and attach application document to corresponding records in AdmitGold: references, transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, etc.
      4. Create an applicant file for each person who submits applicant items
      5. Submit housing deposits to the Business Manager
      6. Update withdrawals and cancels in AdmitGold
        1. Input prospective student data acquired from various sources into AdmitGold and process output from AdmitGold in coordination with Data Coordinator
        2. Assist students and families who contact the admissions office
        3. Generate letters and other correspondence for accepted students
        4. Print application acknowledgement letters, bump letters, class registration confirmations, acceptance letters, and other applicant letters
        5. Send scheduled applicant communication flow letters and emails
          1. Work as an integral part of Central’s Admissions Team, Admissions Committee, and Enrollment Team
          2. Work with the Director of Online Education in preparing reports for the admissions team and other offices using AdmitGold
          3. Create accepted applicant records in CAMS for financial aid, registration, and enrollment
            1. Greet campus visitors, other office guests, and people phoning the office and answer their basic questions and direct them appropriately
            2. Edit and maintain church, academy, conference, and camp records in AdmitGold
            3. Keep office organized and stocked with needed resources
            4. Represent the College in the field if needed during times of heavy travel as directed by the Director of Admissions.

Senior Minister

Education and Experience: Expected to be called by God with Christian Church ministry experience.

Function: The senior minister will be a man called to God's service. He will be responsible to preach the Gospel, and to minister to members of First Christian Church, as well as people of the local area. Responsibility:
Spiritual

  2. Preach, teach, and speak concerning the word of God at every opportunity to the congregation and to the local community.
  3. Perform services such as weddings, funerals, Bible studies, and counseling within guidelines established between himself and the elders.
  4. Coordinate all services of First Christian Church.
  5. Train and advise the members of First Christian Church for ministries (i.e., Sunday School Teachers, Bible Study Teachers, church visitation, and local ministries).
Supervisory
  1. He will oversee the administrative office staff and their functions.
  2. Oversee all salaried employees of the church and coordinate their activities.
Evangelism
  • Responsible for coordinating evangelistic programs and activities.
Shepherding
  • Responsible for coordinating all calling in areas of ministry and is to be assisted in this endeavor by the staff and Elders.
Public Relations
  • The minister shall involve himself in community and civic activities and will maintain a good relationship with area churches and the ministerial alliance.
Relationships
  1. The minister shall report to the elder leadership of the church at regularly scheduled meetings concerning all church plans and activities.
  2. He will be a member of the First Christian Church Mission Committee.

Children's Minister

Crossroads is an independent congregation associated with Christian Churches and Churches of Christ of the Restoration Movement with an average attendance of approximately 600.  There are six other full-time ministers and one part-time minister.  For more information about this congregation, visit www.crossroadsgray.org.  

The children’s ministry at Crossroads serves between 100 and 150 children from birth to grade six with its regular weekly programs. 

Job duties include organization and oversight of on-going regular children’s programming for Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.   In addition, the children’s minister oversees special events like Vacation Bible School and other seasonal special events.

The children’s minister is also responsible to attend weekly staff meetings, coordinate children’s programming with other church programming, and work as part of a team with the other ministers of the church.

A degree in children’s ministry or related to children’s ministry is preferred.  Work experience in or related to children’s ministry is also preferred.

West Orange is located near Orlando, FLorida, between Disney World and downtown Orlando in the growing suburb of Winter Garden.  We are looking for a children's minister (committed to restoration movement principles) to help us with the growth the Lord has blessed us with, especially with families who have young children.

Museville Christian Church is a small independent, non-denominational church located in the western portion of Pittsylvania County, Virginia. We are currently seeking a full time minister and would welcome correspondence and/or applications from qualified men of God.

Our Purpose:

To reach up to God in praise and worship. To reach out to the world with the message of Christ. To reach in to one another through fellowship.

Our Position:

The Bible is God's word to us. It is perfect and complete. It is our complete and sufficient guide in all matters of Christian life.

Our Practices:

We partake of the Lord's Supper every Sunday. We practice “open communion” and invite Christians to join us each Lord's Day as we remember the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We baptize by immersion in order to receive new life in Jesus Christ our Savior. If one is not a Christian, we urge them to give their life to Christ before it is eternally too late.
