We are an Independent Christian Church Camp located in Stockton, Kansas, seeking a full time Executive Director for our camping and retreat center. Lakeview Christian Camp is supported by over 20 Independent Christian Churches in the region.

There are 11 sessions of camp scheduled for the summer of 2016. Campers range in age from 1st grade through college age. Last year there were 485 campers and 162 volunteers. Each session of camp is run by a volunteer dean from one of the supporting churches, who coordinates needs with the Executive Director. There are also retreats scheduled virtually every month of the year. The Executive Director hires summer and temporary staff to help serve in various capacities during the year. There is also a paid registrar and treasurer.

Funding is available to hire a full time Camp Manager who will be responsible for the buildings and grounds under the direction of the Executive Director. That position will be filled after an Executive Director is hired so that he/she can be directly involved in that hiring.

Amenities of the camp include a 700’ zip line and 36’ tall climbing wall. for more information about the camp.

QUALIFICATIONS. The Executive Director must:

JOB DESCRIPTION. The Executive Director has shared responsibility for summer camp season and retreat success. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  1. Raise funds and promote camp through personal contact with each of the participating churches at least one (1) time per year
  2. Initiate contact with and follow up with prospective churches.
  3. Assume responsibility for promoting camp and encouraging church involvement with camps, retreats, and volunteer workdays
  4. Lead the continuing development of the overall vision and direction under the governance of the Executive Board.
    a. Work with the Executive Board to prepare a long-range vision and strategic pl
    b. Initiate and prepare the development of organizational policies for Executive Board approval.
    c. Implement and uphold all camp policies.
  5. Report regularly to the Executive Board about progress toward organizational objectives, financial status of the organization, and other issues of concern to the board.

    b. Communicate and meet with the deans, helping them in any way to create a better camp.
    c. Serve as an effective day-to-day coach and mentor to the staff.
  7. Be responsible for the hiring, evaluation, promotion, training, and discipline of all full and part time employees.
  8. Recruit summer staff to guarantee a successful summer camp season.
  9. Oversee and have a thorough understanding of the various components of the ministry, including programming, retreat ministry, development, and operational and facility management.
  10. Be a good steward of financial resources and ensure the financial integrity of the organization.
  11. Oversee the financial development and fundraising efforts of the organization.
  12. Ensure that the activities offered are within the stated purposes and Christian mission of the organization.
  13. Monitor the quality, attendance levels, costs, and effectiveness of programs and activities for children, youth, and adults.
  14. Oversee the retreat ministry to assure that the facilities are adequately used and a positive environment is offered to guest groups.
  15. Oversee the proper maintenance and development of the buildings, grounds, and equipment.
  16. Serve as liaison between Lakeview and all regulatory bodies and accrediting agencies.
  17. Ensure all camp licensing regulations and legal requirements are met and that a safe environment is maintained for all campers, guests, and staff.
  18. Schedule annual climbing wall certification in cooperation with the Camp Manager.
  19. Update and provide registration materials to churches.

About Capital City Christian Church


Capital City is a church with an average worship attendance of just about 800.  We are located in Frankfort, the capital of Kentucky, a town of about 25,000 (though the town feels larger because so many state services are headquartered here).  Although our church is over 50 years old, we are deeply committed to a “missional” approach to ministry.  We believe the message must never change, but the methods must be constantly tweaked to stay effectively on mission.  Our worship style is contemporary, though we are serious about being multi-generational.

About the position


The Children’s Minister will work with Staff and the Children’s Ministry team to design and implement a vibrant and cutting edge children’s ministry for children birth to 5th grade that involves worship, evangelism, discipleship, community, and service.  Since the vast majority of Christians make their decision to follow Jesus before they finish elementary school, a powerfully effective children’s ministry is an extremely high priority for Capital City Christian Church. 


We also believe that Children’s Ministry can only be strong if it is engaging parents in the process of leading their kids to Jesus and helping them mature as Christians.  We would expect that an effective children’s ministry will be working to engage and nurture a partnership with families whenever possible.


The Children’s Minister will work under the direct supervision of both the Senior and Executive Pastors (depending on the issue).  They will also work closely with our Student Pastor to ensure a smooth transition into the student ministries and foster intentional spiritual development from birth through graduation.

Primary Duties

5. Be creative in working to grow God’s kingdom in the community through the children’s ministry.
6. Develop an annual budget proposal and manage this budget with good stewardship.
7. Develop relationships with the parents of the children, when possible, that participate in New Hope’s 
0 years old-5th grade programs.
8. Select effective curriculum or develop curriculum that meets the needs of each program that involves 
0 years old-5th graders.
9. Attend monthly staff meetings with the Senior Minister and the Associate Minister.
10. Ensure programs and activities are in line with the vision of New Hope Christian Church.  
Coordinate with fellow staff.
11. Submit a monthly calendar of activities for New Hope Christian Church’s monthly newsletter.
12. Be willing to be a servant and help out with other activities in the church as needed.

Stafford County Christian Church (SCCC) is a non-denominational church located approximately 45 minutes south of Washington DC. To lead and further develop a Christian’s ministry to children in the church through programming and teaching, and working 20 hours p/wk.

Requirements: A love for children and a passion for their spiritual well-being in the Christian faith through activities, teaching, and overseeing volunteers who would assist.
Minimum 2 years’ experience leading a children’s ministry program, including managing a team of volunteers.

Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing programs/projects.
Minimum of 2 years’ education in the area of elementary education or similar desired.
Effective oral and written communication and time management skills; self-disciplined.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Primary Duties
1.Teach in our Sunday Morning Kid’s Church at least twice a month and organize volunteers for Kid’s Church on other weeks.
2.Be willing to place membership and attend Sunday worship services at New Hope Christian Church.
3.Recruit and train volunteers for all Sunday morning programs for 0 years old-5th grade on including Sunday School, Wee-Worship, Kids Church, and the Nursery.
4.Recruit and organize volunteers for Vacation Bible School or any other summer activities that involve 0 years old-5th
5.Be creative in working to grow God’s kingdom in the community through the children’s ministry.
6.Develop an annual budget proposal and manage this budget with good stewardship.
7.Develop relationships with the parents of the children to support the family’s primary role in their children’s spiritual growth.
8.Select effective curriculum or develop curriculum that meets the needs of each program that involves 0 years old-5th
9.Attend monthly staff meetings with the Senior Minister and the Associate Minister.
10.Ensure programs and activities are in line with the vision of New Hope Christian Church. Coordinate with fellow staff.
11.Submit a monthly calendar of activities for New Hope Christian Church’s monthly newsletter.
12.Be willing to be a servant and help out with other activities in the church as needed.
13.Work at least 20 hours a week. After onboarding, telework hours can be set with the Ministerial staff.

We are looking to hire a full-time Student Minister this summer.  The primary responsibility will be with 7-12 grade ministries but there will also be some secondary responsibilities in their area(s) of giftedness.  We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, outgoing and willing to grow with us and with the ministry.
