It is the connecting point of Routes I-81, I-88, and I-86.  The City of Binghamton, around 47, 000 in population, is the county seat of Broome County with a population of around 200,000.  It is the center of the county's communication, employment, commerce, culture and recreation.

THE CHURCH AT BINGHAMTON

Brief History:  The Binghamton First Church of Christ (Christian) was begun in October,  1955, with a nucleus of four families meeting in the basement of one of the family's homes. Over the 61 years of existence, First Church has had eight ministers.  Nick Haner came to First Church in 2012. Prior to his ministry the church suffered a split so the last five years have been ones of  healing. During Nick’s ministry he and his young family became a beloved part of First Church. It is with the Lord’s leading and our blessing and support that he is now transitioning into a new full-time mission ministry. We are searching for a new minister to work beside us with God’s direction.

Family Minister Search

Highland Church of Christ, an independent, instrumental Christian church of 650, located in the southeastern Illinois city of Robinson, is currently searching for a Family Minister.  Highland is a contemporary church in a rural area that has a track record of growth and outreach to both the surrounding area and the world.

The Family Minister will work directly with the High School ministry, as well as lead and coach a team of paid staff Directors in the areas of Preschool, Grade School (K-5th grade) and Middle School (grades 6 – 8).  An important aspect of this role is a high level of collaboration with the Adult Discipleship Minister to help develop parents as the spiritual leaders of their homes.

We’re looking for an individual passionate about reaching and building up the whole family.   A leader who relates to our rapidly changing culture and will recruit, equip and deploy other leaders who share that passion for outreach and discipleship.  It should go without saying that a college degree, an above reproach lifestyle and a hyper commitment to God’s Word are prerequisites, but we’ll say it anyway.

To help you create a God-honoring, disciple making ministry, you’ll be part of an elder protected, staff led leadership model that encourages innovation and smart risk taking.  You’ll also have the support and partnership of an experienced senior staff team.  In addition, the children’s and student ministry building areas are new and/or remodeled within the last five years, and offer programming flexibility with an array of excellent technology.

Compensation is competitive, and includes a retirement contribution and insurance package.
