The Virginia Evangelizing Fellowship (VEF) is accepting resumes through Sept. 1 for a great 1-year old church, Catalyst Christian Church, that was planted in Morgantown, West Virginia in October, 2011 (www.catalystcollision.com). Prospects should demonstrate visionary leadership experience, effective communication skills for a young adult crowd and an aptitude for building ministries and teams from scratch.
After reaching around 75 in attendance this spring, Catalyst now has approx. 50 people, mostly very young families and singles, who make up the committed core heading into their second year of ministry. A solid associate, Josh Walker, oversees creative arts and is managing the weekly operations during the interim period while the search for a new lead minister progresses.
Morgantown is regularly cited as one of the Top 10 small cities in America due to major expansion of the University and one of the lowest unemployment rates in the nation. The Morgantown metro area is home to 130,000 residents. There were no independent Christian Churches in Morgantown before last year.
A Management Team made up of representatives from some of the 12 partnering churches will oversee the project, with the VEF serving as the Managing Partner. The VEF has planted 24 high impact churches in the past 22 years. Check out www.vef.cc for more information about the VEF's church plants.
