7. English Testing

The vast majority of international applicants to MACU will need to provide a TOEFL or IELTS score to demonstrate their ability and command of the English language. The minimum required test results are:

a) 500 on the paper-based test – OR

b) 222 on the computer–based test – OR

c) 80 on the internet test with section scores of at least:

1. 22 in Reading

2. 21 in Listening

3. 19 in Writing

4. 18 in Speaking

8. SAT or ACT results

If available, applicants are to submit scores for the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the Academic Competency Test (ACT). The minimum guidelines for acceptance are an SAT Composite score of 940; OR an ACT composite score of 18. MACU is a "test optional" university, however students who do not have a SAT or ACT score will receive less MACU funded scholarship options.

9. Scholarships

International students should communicate with an admissions counselor for scholarship options.

10. I-20 VISA

The University will work with each applicant to obtain the required I-20 VISA. This step of the application process will require copies of the applicant’s passport as well as a verification of available funds for use by the application to meet all of those items not covered by scholarships. This part of the process will begin ONLY after the applicant has been accepted for admission and all aspects of finance have been satisfied.

Dual Enrollment

Current international High school students may apply for admission as a dual-enrolled non-degree seeking student. Dual-enrolled students will not be permitted to enroll for more than six credits per semester. No more than 12 credit hours may be earned as a non-degree seeking student. Individuals who have earned 12 credit hours must meet application/admission requirements for degree seeking status to be eligible to enroll in additional hours.

Admission decisions will be based on the applicants' application, references and demonstrated ability to learn and work in English. Unlike other programs, dual enrolled high school students are not required to have a TOEFL score to enroll at MACU. This difference places a great amount of weight on the applicant's essay and other application process sections.
