6.  University, college or trade school transcripts

Applicants who have attended post-secondary instruction of any type will need to submit transcripts as a part of the application process. Credit for all post-secondary education is a separate action and process from Admissions. The Admissions and Academic offices will work on a case-by-case effort with each applicant to ensure that all possible and potential credit for previous study is granted. There will most likely be an additional expense on per-class basis for an independent assessment for credit, this expense will be carried by the applicant. The University will provide a list of approved vendors to students who wish to transfer international college credits to MACU.

7. English Testing

The vast majority of international applicants to MACU will need to provide a TOEFL or IELTS score to demonstrate their ability and command of the English language. The minimum required test results are:

a) 500 on the paper-based test – OR

b) 222 on the computer–based test – OR

c) 80 on the internet test with section scores of at least:

1. 22 in Reading

2. 21 in Listening

8. SAT or ACT results

If available, applicants are to submit scores for the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the Academic Competency Test (ACT). The minimum guidelines for acceptance are an SAT Composite score of 940; OR an ACT composite score of 18. MACU is a "test optional" university, however students who do not take the SAT or ACT will have significantly less MACU funded scholarship options available to them to offset the cost of their education.

9.    Scholarships

International students are able to participate in scholarship programs that range from $2,500.00 to Full Tuition annually. At this current time, there are not any scholarship options which fund Room, Board, Books or transportation, each of these expenses are the responsibility of the individual student and his or her family. MACU does work with churches and other non-profit organizations who may help a student fund these necessary portions of a college education. The International Admissions Counselor will create for each student an estimated expenses worksheet on a case-by-case basis.

10. I-20 VISA

The University will work with each student to obtain the required I-20 VISA. This step of the application process will require copies of the students’ Passport as well as a verification of available funds for use by the student to meet all of those items not covered by scholarships. This part of the process will begin ONLY after the student has been accepted and all aspects of finance have been satisfied.
