MACU Graduate School Admissions Standards


Full Acceptance

 
  1. A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
2. A grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale on all undergraduate work.
3. Satisfactory recommendations.
 

Provisional Admissions

 
  1. A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
2. A grade point average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale on all undergraduate work.
3. A satisfactory score on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or the Miller Analogy Test (MAT).
4. Satisfactory recommendations.

 

     
  Upon satisfactory completion (3.0 or better grade point average [GPA]) of nine semester hours of graduate study, a provisional student may apply for full standing. If more than nine semester hours have been earned, evaluation will be made on all graduate work completed. Acceptance into full standing rests with the Graduate School Acceptance Committee under the advisement of the program director(s).
     
  Admission to the Graduate School does not mean that a student has been admitted to a particular program.  Specific programs of study have different admissions criteria and admission to a particular program of study is determined by the faculty of the specific program.
     

MACU Graduate School Admissions Procedure

  To apply for admission to Mid-Atlantic Christian University School of Graduate Studies, prospective students should submit the following materials:
  1. Fill out an application for the School of Graduate Studies. This is done online.
  2. Submit payment of the application fee at the time of submitting the application.
  3. Reference Forms - 2 from professor or professional colleague and 1 from minister (preferred) or friend
  4. Essay
  5. Transcript Request - Applicants must submit documentation in the form of official transcript(s) from all institutions of higher education attended and show completion of a Baccalaureate degree.
  6. For applicants with an undergraduate GPA below 3.0, have Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or Miller Analogy Test (MAT) scores sent to Mid-Atlantic Christian University.  MACU's institutional code for GRE score reports is 7485.  MACU's institutional code for MAT score reports is 3047.  Information about admissions testing may be found here.
  7. Specific academic programs may have additional requirements to be admitted to that particular program.
