Brief Biography:

Robbie is a native of East Tennessee. 

He attended Pacific Christian College/Hope International University in Fullerton, CA and earned a B.A. in Church Growth with both a Bible and Preaching Major in 1991. While at PCC he preached at Cardiff Avenue Christian Church in Los Angeles and interned with Floyd Strater at Knott Avenue Christian Church in Anaheim, CA. Robbie also began participating in short term mission work with AMOR ministries building homes in Mexico. He continues short term missions every chance he gets, now taking his two sons along. 

He returned to East Tennessee in 1992 where he served Churches in Elizabethan and Bristol.TN. He completed an M.Div. degree at Emmanuel School of Religion in 1999 and served as senior Minister of Harrison Christian Church in Johnson City, TN from 2000-2008. He also began serving as a Walk Thru The Bible Instructor in 2005. 

In 2008 he accepted an invitation to the Beeson Pastor program at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY, completing the Doctor of Ministry degree in Preaching, Leadership and Spiritual Formation. During his time as a Beeson Pastor, he taught pastors in Africa, visited the worlds largest churches in South Korea. 

Robbie is married to Leanne (Haan) Phillips. They met at PCC. They have three children, Carter, Will, and Maggie. Outside of teaching and preaching, Robbie enjoys spending time with his family, movies, and is a big Tennessee Volunteer fan.
