The counseling profession is growing rapidly. According to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH), overall employment opportunities in counseling are projected to grow faster than average through at least 2020. Much faster than average growth will occur in the field of mental health counseling, faster than average growth will occur in rehabilitation counseling settings, and employment opportunities for school counselors are projected to grow comparable to other occupations through 2020.

Completing the Counseling and Psychology Major will prepare you for:

Graduate Studies
in order to prepare for a career as a school counselor, mental health professional, marriage and family counselor, clinical psychologist, or other type of professional counselor or psychologist.
