Students interested in pursuing careers as physicians, dentists, veterinarians, or physical therapists may choose any number of majors. However, it is critical that a student choose appropriate science courses in order to meet the course prerequisites for admission to medical, dental, veterinary, or physical therapy schools and to achieve higher scores on standardized admission tests for those professional graduate programs.

While you could major in any subject and gain admission to a graduate professional program, this degree has been planned to assist you in preparing for that graduate study. Admission to most professional programs of study after the completion of a Mid-Atlantic Christian University degree is a highly competitive process. In addition to the selected program and courses at Mid-Atlantic, the successful applicant would need to be competitive in overall GPA, science GPA, MCAT/DAT score, number of hours worked in a medical setting and types of experiences, strength of recommendation letters, and interview quality.

With the study of life being so broad, it stands to reason that biology degree graduates undertake similarly broad and wide-ranging careers. Depending on your individual interest, biology careers can lead you to study living organisms such as animals, plants, humans, or bacteria. While this program has been structured with the healthcare as a forte, there are many other options available to biology majors.  Here is a sample:
